I participated in a Dark Age demo weeks ago.... right before the forums were reset several times... and decided to wait for either Genesis or the Quick Start rules to give the game a serious look.

My store doesn't stock DA. My local DA demo guy has not been able to obtain a copy of Genesis despite ordering it from multiple sources.

My interest in DA has actually taken a considerable hit resulting from a lack of DA activity and excitement over WM Hordes. Several weeks ago there appeared to be a small gaggle of interested DA players at the lgs, but now I don't even hear the game mentioned.

Will the quickstart rules be available in the near future?

Rob :)

Rob, which lists are you looking for? If you go to the Downloads page off of the site, we have several lists available now. Brood, Saints John & Mark, plus Skarrd.

Quickstart Lists (http://www.dark-age.com/downQSForces.php)

Who is this that is having trouble getting their Genesis? I've had mine and typically, I'm the last person to get anything...damn Canada Customs!!

I think he is asking about some sort of quickstart rules. WM had a 1 page ruleset that came with the boxed set and was also available online. As for not being able to get a copy of Genesis I agree with you? Where is he ordering from?

I think he's looking for the Quickstart rules that are going to be posted at: http://www.dark-age.com/downQSRules.php

If you post them, it'll be yet another writing project--this time fan translation into Japanese! (^. ^)v Too much to do...

A streamlined version of the rules for public download is being worked on......I don't want to give a date for completion as it's more than one person working on them.....

I can assure you I more than want to see the word of DA to spread..

If you are having difficulties getting a rulebook, you can always use the online store?

Ah, I have my rulebook--Thank goodness! Sadly, It's my MINIs that haven't arrived! (;_ ;)

But I'm wincing at picking and choosing what I'd be willing to translate as far as rules to hand out, when you all are already going through that process.

I've already gone ahead, however, and translated and practiced some choice phrases like "Now it's your turn to Activate a Unit." and "Charging gives you +1 AP, AS, and PW" and "Hang in there!" (^_ -)

Ah, echetus! I wondered where you'd got to. Bout time you came around again.

I'm sorry that your books haven't made it to you yet, did you order directly from Dark Age or...?

He got "Lathe'd"

Pr0, I ordered the first book from DA directly, and then the second copy from The War Store. I got confirmations from both site, including a notice that my orders had shipped...from both stores. Yet...no books. I think it's just a screw up from the USPS, which seems to be losing a few people's orders, from what I hear...

And yes, J***, I got lathe'd...

Oh yes, and I'm more interested in when cards are going to be available rather than the quickstart rules since I already have my rulebook :D

Air Caste is coming down the pipe... long story on why it's taking so long.

Cards won't be available until the lists are finalized and the books come out. Sorry.

Well since my army is only available as a quick list, I just printed the document at 75%, cut out the stats and glued it all to regular playing cards, then glued the units image on the backside so I could see which cards were which when playing.

But then again, im not really into aesthetics, im more of a does-this-function-or-not kinda guy.

that is how we did it for play testing and in days past.. they actually do look good if you take your time..

of course rock-n-roll card making must be fun... do you dip those in ink too? lol

OK, you guys know I love you all, right? Or at least I would if you ponied up the $600/hour I charge for that sort of thing.

But I digress. The unit card thing. Maybe these (http://www.dark-age.com/punkrabbitt/Game_Aids/BlankDarkAgeCards.pdf) might be helpful?

Yeah, yeah, I know. I rock. But you're welcome all the same :)

Nah, im not an ink kind of guy. Dipping is still too pretentious!

My problem is the fact that I dont care for taking all the time in the world to paint minies. I don't really enjoy it at all.
I can paint some very nice looking models, especially putrid and rotting things, but I cant divert enough time away from my playstation, my girlfriend or my beloved hockey to archieve anything that will pass as excellent paintjobs.
I'm one of those radicals who thinks gaming is 90% and painting 10% (at most).

The thing about the cards not looking all that well was noted considering we have got players who has custom-coloured and tranparent plastic templates made for darkage(sheesh, talk about some serious demo gear), whereas I use cd's with pen markings and just cut me a piece of flamer template from the box my printer came in.

*shrug*
