well im about to play my first game and had some questions for the players/staff
1. i really love the story behind this game and would like to know more about the factions. is there anywhere to find more info besides genesis?
2. is there a map of known world available anywhere?
3. i dont want anyone who works for dark age to get mad when i ask this, im just curious. ive played many games and some do a great job with release dates, and updates and others not so much. my initial impression from reading forum posts is that dates are not firm and updates are talked about but nothing solid exists. i guess a specific example of this is what is the actual release date for the forsaken boxes and the second book exodus. i mostly ask because it seems as a new forsaken player it may be smart to wait for some of the box sets, but i would like to know a date for release except "january". and on the topic of the book i ask because my friend and regular opponent has bought skarrd with the hopes the book is going to be released soon. anyways i realise that with the reworking of the game its in its infancy i just wondered if i missed dates that were posted somewhere?
4. is there any demo team for this game and where could i find a listing of people who do that in my area? this is usually a good way to meet new players ive found.
5. lastly thanks for any help anyone can give and i look forward to playing this game!
Hi Saint Kazyle! Welcome to Dark Age! I'll let the staff respond to the relase date questions. I can tell you that there is a demo team. I don't know of a list that says where we all are. When Genisis came out the web forum restarted. Some of the old fluff was gotten rid of so that it could be reworked.

OK, I'M HOPPING MAD NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :x
Kidding, of course. We're not a "big" company like some of our contenders out there, and we need to outsource the production end of most of our product. So when we plan releases, there are many uncontrollable issues that get in our way, such as printer schedules and shipping product back to our little storm shelter. We also have a very samll crew, and if, say, someone comes down very ill and cannot do their portion of a project for a while, it will set us back as well.

Well, let me know where you are and I can see. Right now I only know that you are at your computer (as stated in the "location" section of your profile) which says to me we're in the same place :) I'll be going to Lord-Of-Excess's garage for some Dark Age later tonight, which is aboutfifteen minutes from my particular version of "at my computer." That location is a resource for us to help you, you know :insane:
5. lastly thanks for any help anyone can give and i look forward to playing this game!
I hope I've given you some help. If you don't want to post your location publicly, PM me and I'll get back to you.

One thing that I've come to expect from the company is an inconsistency in when they tell people when things will be released and when the products come out, and also the nature of the products.
With that said I've also come to realize that this is a reality that comes with them being such a small company. Other's may have just as many people working in-house on a specific element of a game as they have working on everything. But I think the trade off, being the accessibility to the employees and the closeness of the company and it's players, is well worth it.

We do not currently have a demoteam in your area, unfortunately. Well, it could be "fortunately" if you're interested.
That being said, Genesis marks the rework of a lot of things for Dark Age, not the least of which is the rules. We've had personnel changes, schedule changes and we're in the midst of reworking some of our policies. We would love to give firm delivery dates, but we'd rather let the dates be flexible in order to deliver the best possible product we know how to.
No worries, it would take a lot more than such innocent questions to ruffle our feathers.

lol ... takes lots more to drive us crazy
As for Exodus I have to add that it wasn't really helpful for the project manager to get stricken with an abominable leprosity in December, but no worry, I feel better now :)
