Well, I'm interested. I've noticed our community is growing lately and I'm quite curious as to what brought you here. Of course you can pick one of the Poll options but please feel free to elaborate in a post.

Demoed Dark Age at GenCon 2002, probably came onto the forums shortly after that. Lapsed for a few years, came back for some reason (I honestly can't remember what drew me back).
That's my story, wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I played the demo at Dragon con back when Yovonika was a staff member and Rizzen did demos!

I believe it was something I've read on old Minirealms... when it was calles MiniForums... Brom + Minis + sci-fi was like a beacon light in the middle of a damn dark night...

Long ago we discussed the art of Brom in our Satanic Circle and the mention of the game got me hooked ... something like that ;)
the truth: observed Brom stuff for long time (since reading Dark Sun in fact in my youth) so it was logical to get to this point ...

Just had a day of random bored off my a** net surfing when I stumbled upon your homepage... and from that moment on, I decided to pick up wargaming after having turned my back on it for more than 7 years.

I was looking at art on the internet and came across Brom. Looking at the links page I caught the words

I'm the same as magpie, found a link on Brom's website, decided to check it out since I play a few other games and I liked what I found very much and I've stayed here.

Magpie made me do it! *Points finger accusingly*
*Looks at her sig* My winky?! So I take it my reference to what male conversation in my flat seems to boil down to was still offensive?
Heh, it only really bothers me as now it's a misquote ;)

I was looking to sweep up my game room, so I Googled "BROOM" for the right tools for the job. I must have mispelled, since my search came up with assorted mutants, monsters and fanatics. But it was so much more interesting than spring cleaning.

I found the website via thewarp.net a while before the release of the first few miniatures and game, and have been following the game to some extent sever since.
And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself-well...how did I get here?

Saw the game when it was first coming out on New Wave Games. I've been interested in it ever since, and now I'm finally moving towards playing it.

Saw something regarding DA on TMP ages back........ this was around 3 years back, maybe a little more than that.
At that time the downloadable rulebook frightened me because of the number of stats and calculations needed to run the game. It just didn't hit with me back then, it was a bit too complex for a 'large-skirmish' game. I then popped back about a year later and saw that the game had been refined a bit, making it less of a headache to play with all the stats and stuff (there were still quite a few though).
Enjoyed it, played it, got some minis, and applied for Outcast status.
New version, miles better, miles faster, and has a much better 'feel' to it. Applied to be a Playtester.

I was reminded by you on my boards, Pro, so I signed up and bookmarked the forums so I wouldn't forget again :D

Found Links from the Berlin Bunker, a cool shop.......
Norticed that things are moving and the minis are up to scratch.....
Feeling this company looks good enough to compete.....
Hence I might be interested in supporting, selling, promoting DA.
Over here in South Korea, once I buy a few faction and test play the system.

I've always been a fan of Brom's art, and i happened, at the time, to google dark age hopefully to get some references for some cool space marine iconography, and bam, i saw dark age games. I was intrigued and looked into it ( this was right about before St. Mary was previewed, i think) and now ive decided to pick it up and join the party. :D

MrSota and Pughwan have been going ON AND ON AND ON AND ON about this "Dark Age" game that they play/test/develop for god knows how freaking long.
One day they finally say they're coming down to show off the game and get people playing it. I head down there and they don't beacuse they posted the day wrong.
A week later they actually run a demo and it was a lot of fun. So now the cancer is spreading and the wallets are bleeding and you all know how that goes.

As I'm always on the look out for neat aliens, I had picked up the various Dragyri slaves a couple years ago, and kept an eye on the rest of the line. Last month, my FLGS guy came back from GAMA singing the praises of this game, and his order arrived last week...
So what specifically led me here? The URL on the minis blister...

I was here before "here" existed . . . . . .
I went to a LAN Party once and the guys asked if I was interested in doing some playtesting for a new game system that they were working on. I said sure and down the rabbit hole I went. That was a lot of years ago now . . . . . . years seem to pass by faster and faster and I get to play games less and less.
If this is getting old, it really sucks. When your young, you want to be older, but when your finally old enough to realize what all you missed when you were young, its much too late. Enjoy it while you can.
Later,

Eight or Ten months ago, I needed some extra bases for another game (the one that just happens to use the exact same bases as DA). The owner of my FLGS said he thought the DA bases were the same.
So, I started looking. Got my bases, and boggled at the minis. I kept a distant eye on it, checking in about once every few months too see the cool stuff.
Our FLGS is bailing out of yet aother unnamed game (who happens to dominate the market but has lost all its following, locally, in the last year and a half). He wanted something to fill the wall space, and that would at least support itself.
I went to GAMA with that goal. The book is out now, most the first two armies are released, and nothing else competes with these models (only real competition he already carried). Called a few other players who frequent the store, had them check this and a couple other sites.
Soon, it was unanimous: We were bringing DA in.
This evening I pick up the remainder of my Dragyri army (I.e. the whole army, minus one blister of slaves) and the box set for the spin-off game from the company that originally brought me here. [Full circle, if you will]

I think there was a St. Mark fig, a Chitin, and some Drangyi slaves in the "special deal section". They always caught my attention, but I was heavy into VOID (GO JUNKERS!!!). Yeah that scene seemed to favor the GW crowd...I think WARMACHINE was also big in Hawaii...there loss 8)

Well Pr0fane got me into it, on minipainters.com. I started looking into it a little after he tallked to me about it and i think it is awsome.
Im about to compair DA with some GW games so be prepaired.
I loved the alternet action rules in LOTR by GW rather than the turn by turn of 40k but i did not realy wanto get into LOTR cuz i love scifi. I was also reading and writing alot of Inquisitor stuff and I loved the gritty brutality of there fluff. so when i looked into DA i was plesantly serprized to fined that it combined my liking of other GW games into one great game...
Well that is my not so short reason why im here, hopefully to stay.

Yes, Ive personally dealt with Neal on many occasions. Great store, great guy. I have had mishipments and/or dmged goods but he quickly made good on the very few problems I had, not just small orders either, large ones for a small buisness and he was the distributer.

Oi! It's Dr. Merc from the Conf forums! You probably never noticed me but I post there occasionally. I can see how DA would attract a fellow Mid-nor player. Anyway, I'm sure you'll like DA as much as Conf, its a great game.
@Shinobi: I've heard good things about the War Store, probably a good place to order from.
