How did you do these?
Hmmm...I am venturing a guess that they are glued onto foam-core and cut into squares

Actually they are printed into normal paper stock on my inkjet, cut out and pasted to craft/bathroom ceramic tiles that I purchased at Michaels Craft Store.
The ceramic tiles provided weight that was sorely missed if they were printed onto any weight of paper stock that I found.
I did find that I needed to go beyond the cheapest tiles they had in stock because the cheapest ones tend not to be consistant squares.

Thanks for the clarification. I like the weight and need a side to pick up counters.
I have mine on these:

dragonlady; so these are just stock bathroom tiles? I'll assume they're the type that are many to a square foot and joined by that thread-like material and you just separate the mini-tiles?

Well, I bought them by the bucket (though a small one). But yes they are just the standard bathroom one. Matt on one side, slippery on the other, thought the ones I bought weren't glazed on either side, so white glue easily pasted my chits onto them!

I used 1x1 wood tiles from here: http://www.craftparts.com/mall/Geometrics3.asp

1/8"
that must translate into 3 mm.
That sounds like really nice counters.
IMO counters and templates are a really unappreciated part of many games. I loathe watching those weedy, flat, warped, ugly paper cut-out counters that many people use.
I can get all frantic searching for the right counter because there is only info on one side, and they're all arranged in one big heap, simply because you don't feel the same kind of respect as you would for something done properly.
Counters ought to be functional and have "authority".
Whether this authority comes from your opponent being afarid you'll throw them at him, or because the are really cool looking, doesn't really matter, all that matters is that you don't look down on a speck of red curled napkin going: Oh, I got a wound. *shrug*
Minies are cooler the heftier and more imposing they look.
The same goes for counters.
So bring on your pictures and let us all know what YOU are using!
Personally I'm in need of some inspiration 'cause my counters are currently only effective, and NOT imposing. :(
