The Mediaeval Baebes have a new DVD that they are offering a special incentive to pre-orderers.
And they have a great new desktop wallpaper!

Excellent...I'm need of something new & different.
@gunslinger...not so. Nothing gothic about their music. It's more celtic meets enya meets Loreena McKennit (sp?).

Well, having said that somewhat categorization above, this is definitely a new look for the Baebes...perhaps this CD is a change in sound for them too.

And Slayer have just gone into the studio too...
I suppose I should let that drop before anyone takes me seriously.
Joking aside though, this should be good.

If they were just called the 'Medieval Babes' I might have thought about downloading something to try out but they are clearly morons who think adding letters to words looks 'kewl' so I won't.

Hi Witchfire. Ive got all of Loreena McKennitt's albums, and love them dearly. The Visit is great! Another favorite of mine is "Live In Paris and Toronto"...a double CD set of live performance. The set includes the whole of "The Book Of Secrets" album on it.

Artemis: The spelling of the Baebes isnt some newfangled hip thing. Its tied to Old English spellings. And since the Mediaeval Baebes are doing ...well...medieval music, its quite applicable.
Check out these Old English renderings :

They went off to start recording earlier this month. To the best of my knowledge the Baebes didn't go with them.
Oddly enough the miss-spelling names thing normally annoys me no end, but I just didn't notice in their case until now so I'll let them away with it.

Let alone use the metric system...
Hey, I think Dark Age is one of the few U.S. games that use the metric system, does that make us uber kool :)
Stunke
03-30-2006, 03:39 PM
It does indeed. In fact, me playing darkage has nothing to do with a nice staff, cool minies, or rules that makes sense. It's all about using centimeters.
There, I said it.

i draft and design buildings and freeways all day long .. so measurements are just units to me.. 1 inch is one unit.. and 1 cm is one unit.. one just happens to be smaller than the other.. no worries there..

I stand corrected. Ironically though, English was already French-ified back un England, old English sounds far more Germanic.

Looks like we're back to the Medieval then. Old English evolved from Anglo-Saxon, very definitely Germanic. Then there's old Scots, which is also a Germanic language, and shouldn't be confused with modern Scots which is actually a dialect of English.
Neither of them should be confused with Gaelic, which comes in Scottish and Irish varieties. And that's all without being invaded by the Norse.
Confused? I am.

Since I live in a metric system country I've found easier to understand inches, as a quarter of the number (inches) multiplied ten, the result in centimeters... I don't know if it can work for other people, but I'm math inclined in everyday's life... (like mental calculations of how much I'm spending in the supermarket).
explaining this in formulae :P
X inches/4*10 = Y cm

See here's the interesting part. Inches are different from one side of the pond to the other.
4 british inches equals 10 cm, but 4 american inches are 10,24 cm. (Or was it the other way around)
Makes a difference in the end, but for wargaing, its fine.
