Hello everyone. Your friendly neigborhood jester of darkness and DA company events guy here.

Who out there is going to Gen Con 2006? If you are going, please post so I can put you on the list. :)

How many of you are going to sign up for one of our great events? I know several of you are already booked and itching to jump in. Who else is game?

Also, how many of you would be willing to give up a bit of your time to help out the DA crew at the con? I would like to get an idea of how many people in our community would be willing to volunteer at the show. ;)

Intrested in taking the plunge and becoming part of the Outcasts team? Speak up and we'll get you in touch with Punky so you can be on the team for the con!

We are getting ready for our biggest convention presence since the game first appeared in 2002. We want to make this the best gaming experience for everyone!

I'm going to be there (with bells, latex chaps and a light coat of oil on). Depending on what you need from folks, I may be able to help out.

I will be participating on Thursday (gotta take a chance at that army 8) ).

But I will be bringing my Ice Caste to take on all comers after hours also, all weekend!!!

If you need some help on Sat & Sunday, I would be happy to help out in the booth in the hours I'm not already committed to booth time at PP.

I'll be at GenCon. Its in my backyard (30 miles from the convention centre) so I don't have an excuse not to. Haven't finalized my event schedule yet. But, regardless of if I sign up for the DA events I will be there ready to grumble and curse at whomever wants to hand me my helmet (or carapice as the case maybe) , before during or after the con.

I'm mainly a lurker here in these forums but I will be there and I've signed up for the 11 August Rumble in the Wastelands.

Duskland introduced me to the game last year (I will let him guess at who I really am). Now I just need to finish painting my Dragyri miniatures (well...I need to start them too).

Update. Got off my lazy behind. Signed up for the late Thursday game (it actually fits in my schedule! woo.).

Now if I can get out of my terrain funk [That new GW building set is an evil, evil thing] and back to painting, I'll finish my army and even come pre-prepared (if completely inexperienced).

The vendors list is up! We're booth 611! I downloaded it and highlighted all the minis companies with con exclusive miniatures. My name is Kyle Gibson and I am an adict.

Kyle's story starts with a couple of Stormtroopers wandering around DragonCon looking for rebels, cute girls and a little bit of trouble. Instead, he got suckered into playing some obscure game tucked away in a bad location in a dark corner. He has been an addict ever since.

Lesson: Dark corners may hold more than just thugs and drug dealers, occationally Pewter pimps and Grafters are hanging out in the shadows . . . . . . .

Looks like there is going to be quite a turnout by companies this year. Definatlly a few more than last. This should be good.

Of course one of the reasons to go to Gen Con is to get those exclusive minis.....(hint, hint). ;) *whistles*

It's looking like I'm not going to be able to make it this year. I more than likely won't have the money to be able to pay for a hotel room, my badge, and still be able to buy stuffs. The demoers for DA don't get a free badge and room by chance, do they?

Harlequinn
06-27-2006, 01:44 AM
It's possible. Im investigating options along those lines. Nothing firm yet.

There had better not be any exclusive minis from Dark Age. Kyle isn

There are two "LE" Dark Age figures, the Squating Sister of Compassion and the sword arm/German Sister of Charity.

PWNED

Any word on the badge and room Harlequinn? If it matters, I have no problem working a lot in the booth. As long as I have a bit of time to game (which can be done after the dealer room closes) and paruse the dealer room a bit I'll be fine. :) I can even paint up minis to be used for demo games if neccesary. I'd just need to know what figures you'd like to see used.

Ok, ok. I'll give in.....a bit.

To answer Magpie's question, and some of you other guys, in regards to exclusive minis at Gen Con........
Anything more.....and Im going to demand payment in money, game products, or beer (and the good stuff, no pisswater like Buttwiper). Just keep in mind that the jester's ultimate buyout price is damn high on account of him being a po' starving artist who slaves building 3D Wal Marts at an architectural firm for "the man".

All joking asside, onto what you have been waiting for.

I have been working with Grafter on getting a Gen Con exclusive mini this year. What it's going to be......to quote the enigmatic Xellos.....is a secret. ;)
However it will be something that will probably be in the regular Dark Age lineup sometime in the future. More of a preview than an actual LE. So unlike a limited sister model(s) you should be able to get it later on.
So if you want one and can't make it to Gen Con, I suggest looking for a ninja shopper.

Monkeyboy, expect a PM from me soon, and all will be answered.

So I guess my forum name got removed and I am now a low post again!
Guess that means I have been away too long-

anyway- I am really glad to see the huge presence at GenCon this year-
I hope to participate in the games and events and buy the books as well!

I will paint some more it seems and show up ready-

Where is the best place to get more details on what to do? I think I will need to do some demo games to learn the new rules better, so I will plan on that Thursday!

Great!

night hunter, when the hard copy Genisis rulebook replaced the downloadable rules the forums were reset and we all went back to low numbers of posts.

Hope to see you and everyone elce at GenCon. I'm not really sure if I'll be playing or just running demos.

Sorry Gunslinger- didn't mean to imply that I was anyone important- just a long time follower!
My forum name was the same on the old forum-
I had applied for Outcast membership with Profane - but that was over a year ago. Got sucked into doing Confrontation events and demos, but with ACD now pushing Confrontation I was looking back to my older interests....as independants are not needed as much for that- now that I have finished school I thought I could put some energy behind this game again- and GenCon seems like a great way to start-

Looking through the GenCon events I was less than thrilled with the number of individual run games this year in the miniatures section- hoping that once I arrive there will be unlisted events there.
Getting off topic--
Looking through the new point system seems tough to make a 500 point list- so maybe St. John or MJB will need to stay home!

Will there be a Dark Age presence at GenCon SoCal? I am attending this year, Indy is too expensive for me.

Harlequinn

Im going to try and work something out with Punkrabbit to have some sort of Dark Age presence at SOCal this year. We'll probably have some Rumble events or straight up demos, however no booth. Next year on the other hand if all goes well, a full presence is quite the possibility.

I PMd you about that a few weeks back. If Punky can go, he'll more than likely go with me. We regularly game on the weekends so I'll bring it up to him as well.

For the record I'll be at Gencon Socal, hopefully with some followers of the gaming cult-er-club that I'm starting at my college. Maybe I can get some DA converts...
