View Full Version : Where are the painters?

Okay, what do I have to do to get people painting? We have 249 registered members now and only one new painted mini shown in the last month.

Do I actually have to offer up prizes to have people show their paintjobs?

Where is everybody?

I need a new camera. I can't get anything but crap out of the one I have.

ummm, camera dead.. painting too many models for other people that aren't Dark Age models, so figured posting them was bad form..

playing too much world of warcraft, working two jobs and just plain being lazy..

I'm frantically trying to get what I have based and assembled. I'm currently working on 3 other figurines as well (started far too long ago). That and I have never had a camera capable of taking even decent pictures of miniatures.

Of course if Wayne would get the entries from the last Kublacon posted...

I'm participating in a "Patrol" thing over at MiniRealms... basically you plan a 500 point army for Warmachine or Hordes and you set a painting schedule for a couple of months... you write fluff and such... a cool idea, maybe we can do something like that...

I don't think it's been a full month since I posted Nathanial and Orchid, but I'm finished with my Dark Age miniatures. It might not be until "Evolution" when I do anything else.

Ok, you got me. I've had some done for a few weeks and just haven't posted them. For your enjoyment there is now a blizzard up to look at.

I offer to photograph VAxillus' minis :) ... don't know if we will ever get to see each other before summer is over though hehe

I am working on mUrtros (just got a little bit sidetracked with another skirmish game :sigh:)

I'm currently painting up stuff to sell on ebay. I needs moneys 'cause I'm broke. But some of the money I make from this is going towards buying some DA minis :) I already put up a Hordes Trollblood Axer and I'm working on a Warmachine Protecterate box to put up. After this, if I'm not burned out on painting, I plan on working on some DA, probably getting my Saint-Independant Forsaken troops painted.

@saevus; that's true. Guess I am just feeling the itch to paint so was wondering what everybody else was up to.

Thanks for the updates all.

ok, I did paint some stuff last month, but forgot to post...
Here's the link to my blog where my progress is carefully recorded :

It is not as good as I hoped it would be, but it is passable for wargaming, I guess..

I'll be moving in a few days, and when I'm settled in my new place in July, I'll have to finish painting a few Skarrd (including 2 or 3 minor conversions already pinned and undercoated) and start on some new terrain..

@Art-de-vivre; you take the cake for being most prolific from what I can see dude. Thanks for the inspiration!

Heh heh. I'd hoped nobody would ask that question. Well, my only real excuse is that I've been spending all my free time working on Exodus and now Evolution. I guess I could stop work on those things to paint. ;)

Like work? LOL.

Yeah. I'll have to dig through storage to find my "WIP" box. On the low-priority ToDo list. <sigh> Life is too short.

The thing about to-do lists is, that you are actually trying to DO the stuff thats on them.
If you put stuff on a to-do list, and ignore it, you're just lazy

gunslinger

lol stunke obviuosly you haven't been married.. a to do list is a list you make to show your wife you are going to do that stuff at a later date.. not doing it, is the fun part.. nothing lazy about, there is a list of things to do rather than the to do list and that is what most husband/fathers do..

lazy, that's for young people..

I had an idea a while back of painting some miniatures for any one who can do professional looking miniature photography, since I suck at it and really need the advertising. Any takers who can pay the S&H?
