Okay, I posted this over at Infinity, so I thought I'd show them here too. I've finally had some time to sit down and work on my minis.
Okay, here they are. Sorry the pics are so crummy, but I'm too rushed to set things up for good pics.
Here is a comparison shot between a Sister of Compassion painted by one of my demoteam guys / Infinity's Hassassin Fiday / Clergy Ann.

And representing the Brood is Murtros and a very puny-looking Fiday. :D

Yes. All of my miniatures are WIP. <sigh>
If I feel motivated later, I'll take a few more pics of my current WIP minis. I have....5 Coil, 3 Bane, LtdEd Sister of Compassion, Sister Mary and 2 Clergy Ann on the table at the moment.

Infinity's bases are pewter? Interesting. I've been wanting to pick it up but can't justify the price. Getting a box set and some drones (the coolest thing about the game) would cost about $70. A wheeee bit too much money in my book.

They are on the pricey side. What made you think the bases are pewter? They come with standard slotta bases. The base this Hassassin Fiday is on is a King & Kerr resin base.

Ah, I thought that was the standard base that came with it. It's looks shiney, like it's made of metal. o.O

LOL. The shine is from my wash. I prime, then wash...then paint.

Not much there so far, so I can't really say much. The Mutros is a bit blurry, but it looks pretty good. The color scheme works well, The limited range of colors makes it very cohesive. That single green gem is an impressive use of complememntary colors, though it would stand out more if put directly next to red. Since it's a bit blurry, I can't say much about the highlights and shading, but from what I can make out it looks good enough.
Interesting priming/washing technique BTW, I'd like to see how you go from start to finish.

Actually I do my minis like that now.
I used to use black undercoat to help with getting the blacklining afterwards, but found it hard sometime to see the details with the black.......... so I tried a new method. White or light grey undercoat, then wash with black. The details are clear to see and paint, and yet the recesses are blacklines already!! Plus I'm finding the washed surface a beauty to paint over.

But of course the joy of Infinity is that you need even less minis than Dark Age...the starter box and the drones would give you an army of 250 or so points when the largest armies used are 300 and most armies are 150-200! But yeah, still pricey, Dark Age is VERY nicely priced.
I'd comment Pr0 but I already have on the Infinity borads!

@Vaxillus...well the only thing to add really is that over the blackwash, I use watered down colors so the shading is already done. Then blast a couple of coats of Dullcote and voila. The 'voila' is theoretical for me since I've never "completed" a miniature. :(

I prefer to use white primer so I might have to try out the washing before painting approach. :)

Interesting. I'd like to see the final result, though I guess you've been pretty busy with Exodus :D .

Frst time I was on Artemis Blacks looking at the prices I was thinking "For this price these have to be 20mm, or less...". Obscenely good prices....of course it makes me buy more stuff in the long run as I think I can afford more that I would if I was buying pricey stuff! :D

Thanks Patrick. Nowhere near as interesting as when you show new stuff, though.
Check your autofocus feature.
Does that function in Macro mode?
Patrick

 Hmmmm. It would depend on the camera I guess.
I have a Nikon CoolPix 800 and I can switch between auto and manual focus for it, even in macro mode. Sometimes if the depth of field is too narrow the lens doesn't know what to look at and usually chooses the closest thing. If you can manually control the focus, you get to choose the area of that the lens focuses on.
I have also noticed that the more I zoom in with macro the less control I have over focusing. So I tend to stick my figures about an inch or so from the lens, crank the zoom wide and fire that way. Takes more light but I get sharper pics.

Cool! Thanks for the tips. I do realize that the focus may have been askew because I didn't have a backdrop. The camera was probably quite confused as to what to focus on.

I know it's not much, but hey...I'm making progress.
First batch of slaves assembled, based and primed. Test model has his undercoat applied.

Next time you post a piccy of your slaves, can you do from a slightly higher angle, coz I wanna see the Ice bases :D

Will do. And I'll figure out how far the camera should be away in Macro to clear up that fuzziness.

Are those ice bases the resin ones or made by you?
For the macro, for my camera it's about 6-7" or so. Also, the main cause for blurryness with a macro is shaking the camera slightly. It's not as forgiving as with a flash.

The bases are Epicast resin ice bases. They're not as cool as the ones that Wappellious made.
