Pimping Dark Age in Denmark is going really well at the moment.

Even more online stores are now selling Dark Age miniatures in Scandinavia, and they have all linked to the quickstart rules now, so people can get busy trying out their new aquisitions on the game table.
Some of the stores didn't even know that a game system was connected to the minies, they just thought they were cool, so a few kind email reminders from certain native fans have now resulted in more links sprouting all over the viking zones of the internet.

People around the country have all bought Dark Age minies to try them out for painting, and everyone has given positive feedback on them. I met a couple at a tournament this summer, and they were all pretty excited. I would have been demo'ing, but the tournament organizers caught wind of it, and asked me (using very strong persuasive arguments) not to do such a thing, since they were only selling GW products at the con, and were not interested in lending gamers ANY of the 50 available tables for some recreative gaming, that would not result in buffing their revenues from the con.

So if only there was some way of getting the rules spread as quickly as the minies, I think that Dark Age would very much be eligible for the title of "that game we play when were fed up with GW and warmachine"
Dark Age is standing stronger than even confrontation at the moment!

Just give me 8 more years I tell you!

Just wanted to share some good news with you all.

'you crazy???
If I was pimping this game a bit harder, I'd have to wear a velvet suit, slap people, drive a convertible and wear a big fluffy hat.

But pay me and I'll see what I can do. :D

We're a conservative people you know.

We ONLY listen to shoddy pop music, 'cause thats what we've been doing for the last 20 years.
We ONLY play GW games 'cause thats what we've been doing for the last 20 years.
We ONLY eat potatoes, instead of rice, pasta and noodles 'cause thats what we've been doing for the last 20 years.
We ALWAYS drive too fast 'cause thats what we've been doing for the last 20 years.
We ALWAYS bitch about the tiniest bit of change 'cause thats what we've been doing for the last 20 years.

And so on and so on.
Actually the notion of playing anything else than Magic the gathering or GW games is still frowned upon, and seen as slightly rediculous wherever I go. It's that bad!
9 out of 10 people I meet around certain parts don't even realise that other tabletop game companies exist.

I'm not entirely joking about those "last 20 years " jokes either. Danes are generally thickskulled and stubborn as donkeys, even getting a few stores to open up to something else is a major archievement in my book.

But you're canadian... what do you know

Sounds like an uphill battle, but luckily the DA side has artillery. The hardest part of breaking brand loyalty to a game is to get them to actually open up and try the game. After they give it a try, with a ruleset like that of DA they have to at least give it some credit as a worthy compeditor if they don't start playing it. Of course, if they won't even try it it's like yelling at a rock :? .

Our gaming group has gone round and round over the GW/Warmachine debate. As a former GW addict, converted to warmachine pressganger, I watched many a player get disgruntled with several thins (see my post on 10 top things for miniature gaming) we now have a boycott of our web site by angry WM players who can't understand why we would want to try out other games. Like WM is all there is.

yeah, I've heard about those too.
Fortunately, those that DO play warmachine in Denmark are the kind of gamers that are open to almost anything, so actually the warmachine players are a lot more interested in Dark Age than the rest of the community.
