Well it's been a long time since I've been on the DA boards, so long in fact that I had to register for these new ones.

I played in 3 demo tourneys this weekend, and finally won the last one on Saturday night. Thanks for all the great opponents, got sent home packing in the first round on Sunday morning, by a nasty little Firestorm, Contradiction, 4 Bane force that seemed to have my number no matter what I did. Thursday night, I played a Dragyri Force 2 Soul Searchers, 1 Death's device, 5 slave slingers, and 6 slave spears. Saturday's 1pm I played on the end of the table with no terrain, because it was that packed at the demo tables, I had 3 Coils, 3 Banes, and 1 Bounty Hunter. Saturday's 4pm was the force that I wanted to play from the get go, it was Saint Mary, 3 banes, and 2 Clergy Ann's.

Thanks go out to all the great demo guys. Grafter, Kyle, Monkeyboy, and Greg. Sorry if I missed any of you, those were the only names that I got. You guys handled yourselves in the most professional manner, and yet were still fun to talk to. I imagine that you will all be catching up on sleep for the next month.

The terrain was great, the mini's were great, best of all the new rules are great. I used to play back in the day of the old 10 stat cards, with the free download rules, and the game didn't really float my boat back then. The new rules totally changed my mind. It's fast, it's fun, and there are no uber combo's at least none that I saw.

I picked up 1 of everything for Saint Mary on Sunday, and am going to be ordering some Dragyri today. My friend's also picked up Skaard, Forsaken, Dragyri.

I'm glad that Vandig talked me into playing Thursday night.

Thanks Galyn for the coil trade, I hope your female force works out for you.

Again thanks to everyone for the great weekend!

Damn Borth, I swear that you're on every forum that I am. :) Glad to hear that you got back into DA. We only had one St. Mary to be used, but if no one was using her in the other games (or cared about not using her) we would have been more than happy to let you field her. We were pretty lax with who used what from round to round because we wanted everyone to get a feel for the different armies and figure out what suited their style.

BTW Monkeyboy, I have been listening to digitalgunfire for the last 2 days now. Since I got on yesterday and noticed it in your tag.

Yep, I knew I recognized your name at the con.

Hey Borth! Greg here - Great to see you on board. Yeah I figured you'd be picking up St Mary. Any Firestorms in the mix?

You guys handled yourselves in the most professional manner, and yet were still fun to talk to.

See, I keep telling people I'm fun but they just don't beleive me

A box worth of Firestorms. I added it all up in Army builder, and I think I purchased over 2000 points of Forsaken. Vandig keeps telling me to slow down, but I don't know how.

They just keep coming! Welcome back Borth, though I wasn't on the old forums. Glad to hear the new rules are doing if for you. As for the army lists and ballance, I have yet to find a force that I considder unballanced (except for maybe St. John's quickstart entry, but we know that's gonna get adjusted).

I faced a banger, some banes, and 2 Haniels, with a bounty hunter 3 coils, and 3 banes. I won that game by the seat of my pants. Too bad I had already lost my first game that round, because I went on to win my next 2 games.

It's not so much the troops that are scary, it's St. John himself with his ungodly power shield. I almost killed him once...almost.

My pet Pud 'Eric' killed St John............................. then made a nest in his lower intestines. Took me ages to find him after the battle. Poor 'Eric'. He must have been so lonely.

I want to introduce 'Eric' to a lady called Mark sometime soon.........

I want to introduce 'Eric' to a lady called Mark sometime soon.........

Hey, that's insulting to women!!!!

Mark is an Invertebrate and I don't ever want to see any more crazy talk that says otherwise.
