Well, I decided to try out some Skarrd psychogenics today, namely the ones that make you charge a particular target, and while Shane passed his PS checks, a question arose. What happens when you cast this on a unit with a held action? Does the action go away? Do they immediately use their held action to move towards the caster/target unit/etc? I would assume the latter, but I figured I'd ask. Don't think this has been asked before...

PS checks for Skarrd psychogenics are subject to TN penality like ranged assault or cover ????
Thank you

Mr. Sota can correct me if I'm wrong, but Genesis states that Psychogenics or Foci that function like a ranged assault, which I assume means they have a PW like a normal weapon and don't require an enemy PS check, suffer penalties to the casting roll like a ranged attack. On the other hand, weapons that require an enemy PS check don't suffer range or cover penalties. Again, this is how I'm enterpretting it, I could be wrong.

When on hold you can:
Get the Jump from Hold
RA from Hold
Evade from Hold
So you really can't move from hold (unless of course you are evading), if you are effected from the psychogenics your talking about, you wouldn't be able to use anything other than CA and RE weapons.
Did I cover it?

Doh! I forgot about the 'from hold' actions. I must have been thinking about some other system. So just to clarify, you can still use a 'from hold' action if effected by psychogenics as long as it involves a CA or RE weapon. In other words, a unit can still evade or get the jump, but could not RA from hold since the spell prohibits it.
Glad I got the other rules question right, seems almost every time I ask a question myself I mangle the rules somehow

Example: You are playing Forsaken, I am playing Skarrd.
You place your Banes on Hold. I cast Provoking Ridicule on the Banes. I am successful....you roll your PS save, your unsuccessful. I now control your Banes. Since you have already activated your Banes and placed them on hold. If you charge the Banes, or use an AOE weapon on them, I will be able to react to them with the on hold counter.
Same thing if you were successful with your save and the psychogenic failed, you would still have the on hold on the banes to do with as you would.
