Theres a lot that i like, a few things I'll do different on my next ones. The skin is black with slight purple highlights that don't show up so it looks just black, but other than that i'm happy. Base was a test as well that will be better off on the rest of the models as well now that i've learned a few things with it also...

Looks pretty good, but the dark skin makes it hard to read. I'd suggest adding some white or grey along with the purple next time. Also, when photographing try to light the mini from the front.

You're right about the purple highlighting not showing up real well. I'm not real big on the blue metallics. I think painting the metals silver and then going over it with blue ink will give you a similar effect with a cleaner look.

thanks everyone, he was a bit rushed, as he was my color test. I might try inking on the metals like suggested and try to lighten the skin slightly. The white i'm actually pretty happy with, to me it looks like it came out pretty clean (though I am looking at the model, not the pic, the pic may have changed it a bit). My Shadow Walkers will be next up, so we'll see how they come out. I appreciate the compliments and criticisms from everyone. Good gaming!

I think the color combos work well. I like the way you contrasted the blue with yellow. I'm going to do the same thing with mine, but with purple skin and lighter blue highlights.

i think your mini looks awesome.. your photography skills (especially the lighting) need some work. but with some better shots you will see the hightlight better i bet.. :D

Ok, I've updated both the mini and the pictures to try to get a better look. I did the underpainted crystals from one of the other threads on the armor spikes and really like that a lot. I also grey highlighted his skin and made them a bit more prominent as the purple highlights just didnt look right. The snow base dried overnight after I took the first pictures and once 100% dry looks alot better than what I had in the pics. Overall, I'm pretty happy and have a good template for the rest of the Trueborns.

That looks 100x better. I'm really liking the axe and other crystaline parts, they sorta glow.

Dude looks awesome! How did you do the skin? You (along with everyone else painting Dragyri) have gotten me interested in painting my stuff. I just need to attack it and get it done!

Awesome work man!
