I was thinking when I first get my Dragyri I would practice using NMM to capture the odd, reflective sort of surface of their crystal arms and armor. While I normally like using MM it just seems incredibly inappropriate for them and I found the use of NMM on their armor and weaponry to be appealing, if not because of the fluff involved. :D

So.. how would one go about that? I've seen all sorts of guides for capturing golds and steely looking metallics but nothing for more blueish metals or even off the wall ones, like reds or greens. All I can tell from at a glance is to apply one hard, off color like a grey or such, and white for the highest point in highlighting, which seems to be the consistent trend.

Maybe try using a blue-gray mix for a blue metal look. You'll probably have to mix up your own colors, but it should work on the same premise as silver/gold NMM. And ultimately you'll still end up at white for the final highlight. Greens can work the same way, but with red you'll probably want to mix in yellows to brighten the color.

An interesting question though. Think I might have to try this myself. I'm just going off the top of my head on this. Good luck!

Magistrate, I suggest practicing on miniatures other then the ones you want to show off on. If you want your Dragyri to be impressive but know you need some practice, grab some miniatures you don't mind messing up a little and go at it. Check out the Cool Minis or Not site for articles on NMM, and other game companies forums (Rackham has a couple of threads on NMM that have been more then a little useful!).
