Painting in the cold doesn't work. I was in my garage painting and once the temp dropped below 40 I could see the effects it was having on my paints.

I wouldn't know about that any more, since the temperature and humidity are so bloody high all year round and during both night and day. However we face our own problems with temperature etc with paint drying too fast, and the humidity playing havoc with spray varnishes...........
........ we won't mention the sweat effects........ :P

LOL I had to re-read it coz thats what I thought it read, but I can't blame it on being up late........ its only midday here. :D

that would explain why my dull coat looks like gloss finish on my weapon smith. I took a flash photo of him...I'd post it but the glare will burn out your retna's.

Remember that Dull-Cote is a flat lacquer. Lacquer is a glossy medium. The flatness comes with a particulate additive. It must be shaken well in order to drie flat. Glossy lacquers dont need to be shaken at all since there is no particles.

True.
In high humidities it is even more important to shake the varnish spray can a lot, and I mean a lot!!!! I've had a platoon of 20mm tanks go from D-Day paint scheme to Eastern Front Snow camo before.......... :evil:

Funny, I always thought it was after 40 that things start to go gummy.
