What you all think for a 500 point list?
Spirit Lord
Artic Blast
Ice Wall
Deaths Device
Frostbite
Taskmaster 4 Guard Slaves
5 Sling Slaves
500 points exactly

Id run it
though I dunno about the taskmaster I find hes better with a higher slave count, Id drop him for more other slaves maybe another squad of slings (I love these guys)

I'd say not enough slaves.
The taskmaster needs to be at the back of a maxed out slave unit.
That way more slaves benefit from the +2AS he gives when sacrifing them.
This tactic is all-out evil on a max squad of slingslaves. They can take aimed shots at AS 7 Or double tap with AS 5.
Spells are really cool, but you will need to herd your opponent around a LOT with that army, becasue the DD and frostbite wont last long enough to kill the entire opposing army themselves.
I think you would be better off not having an expensive spellcaster at 500 points, rather than another handful of slaves.
If you bring the Ice wall spell, bring shard slaves too.
Both the spell and the slaves can funnel the enemy's troops in between certain pieces of terrain, or deny him acces to certain points on the board, so you are utilising more of a sheep-herd approach to playing Dragyri.

For some reason this is confusing to me  If the sling slaves only have 2 AP with an AS 3 what exactly do you mean above? Also, since they have 2AP, doesn't the mean they either move and shoot once, or don't move and shoot twice?
Sorry if I sound stupid, just trying to get it straight here. To complicate matters for me, what about this "aiming" stuff, why would you spend an AP to just aim? and then shoot, wouldn't it just be better to shoot twice? and if the RF is blank or has a - does that mean they have no RF or some unlimited RF?
What about Aiming a Power or Foci? is appears similar to the other Aiming rule, however I think I might be reading too hard into the rules and I am confusing myself.
I'm asking because I want to get the slingslaves, they do seem very useful and I can think of all kinds of tatics that would use when adding them in my Dracyri units.
Thanks

I don't think you have things wrong
Aiming, with unlimited RF (which slingslaves have) IS a gamble: +2 on TN is basically + 10% to hit , vs Rolling a whole nuther To-Hit.
Statistically, it IS generally best to take two shots. Take shooting at a DF 2 enemy at < 10 CM (to keep things simple). . .
A single Aimed shot has a 65% of missing.
Two not-Aimed shots have a 56(.25)% of missing with both.
Most folks get fooled into the idea that a higher TN is the best (no offense!). But, look at any of the *x2 weapons. . . These things rock even at 4x2!
---
Aiming is most useful with RF1 Units, like the Soul Splitters (talking Dragryi), allowing you to maximize the shot. And, yes, it works on Foci too.
---
The remaining 2 AS Skunkie was talking about was from the Taskmaster's "Cull the Weak" ability where he kills a member of a Squad to grant the whole squad +2 TN

tossing twice to me means twice the chance to roll a 1
and twice the chance for a Mal but that just makes em more fun
