It's probably a question with a simple answer but I can't find it anywhere and its bugging the hell out of me so I'll ask anyway.

In Genesis it does say that a unit may freely spin and change its facing with the restrictions that are listed there. But how free are they to do so?

"A Unit may not turn while using an AP for a close or ranged assault"
Does that mean an individual is surrounded by say 3 enemies in CA can only choose to attack the enemy they are facing as they are not allowed to spin?

Another example would be the Ice elemental with its rear arc attack. Assuming it has 3 enemies in its front arc, can it spin so that its rear arc now faces them and use the tail swipe? Or can the tail swipe only ever be used if something charges into its rear arc?

And with either example would it cost AP to do so?

as far as my experiance with the game goes and bare in mind only been playin just over a month if you have no one in your front arc in combat you may free spin to attack those in your rear arc its just common sense

You may turn to face an enemy as long as you turn before you use the AP for the CA attacks, you cannot Attack and turn at the same time. see Attack & Firing Arc p. 27 Genesis
