View Full Version : X-treme Terrain Piece Sizes?

In the rules for the X-treme scenarios it says that you should have 10 terrain features on a 4x4 table. I was wondering how large those features should be though. Are there any guidelines on what the general size (or sizes) these terrain features should cover?

For example: what I was thinking were 2 with a roughly 8x8 sq inch area, 4 with a 6x6 and 4 witn 4x4. Something like that.

Our group is new to the game (since the demos at KublaCon) so any input is really appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't recall any specific size pieces required in the xtreme rules. I have found from my experience that the game only becomes more interesting with more terrain in the way. The only thing I would advise is to watch out for spacing. The scenario tokens cannot be blocked. You have to be able to access the entire base area.

If I am wrong I am sure someone from DA will be along to correct me and to answer you.

Jamie is correct in that the objectives should not be blocked. There should be at least ten terrein pieces and you have a good start to the number and size. Myself personaly I love lots of terrain, but then again I play Brood and I fear those nasty nasty nasty flame throweres yes yes yes I do. I'll try to get a pic of an appropriate decked out X'Treme table.

That would be great. I would love to see what a typical table should look like.

Thanks!

A few additional pics of a 'typical' or ideal Dark Age table would be great. I have a ton of terrain in my collection, but no idea what's the optimal amount. As always, i can see that particular terrain setups would help certain armies (lots of terrain for brood etc.)
