Veteren table top gamers will agree that there are loopholes in every game. Despite the meticulous attention of play testers everywhere sharp, almost maniacal, players manage to find that perfect combo to use that gives them the winning edge almost every time. The Mark Gunline is one of those. Many players have shuddered when they see Saint Mark, thinking that they have a lost cause battle ahead for them. Armed with these simple yet effective tactics, generic to any army, will help you enjoy your game and bring the battle to Mark himself. Of course they are not the magical answer, but they should give you a competitive edge and help you enjoy the game rather than be shot down like a mangy dog.

Again a fantastic article, thank you. I am finding that Mark is not the only one with a difficult to approach line. I look forward to seeing if these ideas will allow me to deal with the gun boat crew Saint John has been putting on the table lately.

Not to repeat what BJ outlined, but:

The "Force your Opponents Hand" is the biggest, for me. And, one of the more unique aspects of Dark Age vs most other games.

Get him to go on-hold instead of shooting twice, aimed and you have already solved half the problem. And, not just for Mark either. The activation meta-game can be huge. Making your opponent act first with specific models can often spell victory.

I almost have Mark activate first every time I win Init. That is of course I'm sure I am not within LOS of him.....
