Howdy:

I really dig the sculpts of both Charity units but I'm torn on which one to buy first and how I'd work it into a Skaard list. I can see Zeals comboing well with Bolas or a Father using Provoking Ridicule or Vindictive Fury. I'm a bit torn on how use Mights though. I'd love to have extra large bases and models that can hit like a ton of bricks and even take a punch (without the enemy unit being Feared into jank). I'm just not sure how I'd get them to where they need to be without having them shot to crap. Obviously, good usage of terrain is key, but I like to keep my forces mobile.

So how do people use Mights? Countercharge unit? Meatwall? Times when either unit is a better investment than Buzzblades (w/ Kaustic?)? Where do you keep the Sister in relation to the rest of the mights?

Thanks!

I would say it depends on how you play.

I personally field the mights, just because I think the sculpts are just amazing... nothing to do with tactics.

If you and your friends just always play kill them all games, I would suggest meat shields - mights. They are hard to handle and allow you to be shielded and move up. If you play a lot of scenario games whereby movement is an issue, then I would lean towards the zeals. Or you can just have a squad of each and switch them in and out to surprise your friend. Dark Age is ALL about match ups, changing out a unit here, adding another there can change the game totally.

Where to put your sister... where she does not get killed :) because if she does, at the end of the game, your unit of mights or zeals are considered lost. I normally push the mights or zeal in and then have the sister finish them off.

Hope that helps.

The mights are a tough meat sheild that can't be ignored. They are scary models and if you throw them at someone you can put an enemy on the defensive. Basically they are a straight up the middle force that are good to help your something really nasty get in close for the kill. I use my Zeals as flankers. Basic buzzblades are really good when you have to fight slaves or Broodlings or have bought a bunch of really expensive troops and need to make up the numbers. Remember that while all three are basic troop types, in Dark Age basic troop types can be very dangerous to even heroes.

Thanks for the advice guys! Against my better judgement (and the health of my wallet), I've decided to go with a squad of both.

I think was approaching the issue wrong: I was looking at this as what I could swap for Buzzblades/Kaustic at a point per point cost, which when you're adding just a Charity unit looks pretty poor (90 points for the Grafter/Sister is almost double the cost of Kaustic... plus the added cost of Chairty units over Buzzblades). However, when I redesigned my army list as "I have a Grafter, look why I can take", the options looked much better.

Got both, cool! From a figure fan perspective the Might are just awsome. You can really make all of them different which looks great from a Skarrd crazed horde point of view! :D I had to do a fair amount of conversons on the buzzies to get the same effect.
