Hello, everyone!
I am new in the DA universe and will start to collect a Dragyri army.
What`s the benefits and detriments of this race?
And what is the general still of the Dragyri?
Is it a infighting or a fire army!
Cheers

Hello RedDragon and welcome to your newest favourite addiction.
Rest assured that you will get lots of responses, it just may take a bit of time.
Some people see this as a detriment. With the Dragyri forces currently available, you need to have a 1:3 ratio of Trueborn to Slaves. Meaning that if you have two Death's Devices, you need to have a minimum of 6 slaves. Benefits? Well, the male Trueborn are some of the hardest hitting units you will see in Dark Age. These guys are martial monsters. You will see them as mostly a Close Assault force. You see, the Dragyri see Ranged combat as being dishonourable. To balance that, they have an ability called "Focus". This is a magic-like ability that lets some of their units use spells called "foci".

Welcome to our little nightmare..
as for the Dragyri, the are definately a melee (close assault) {infighting} army. As Pr0fane points out they find ranged fighting dishonorable. Only their own troops which are being punished for a dishonorable act will even touch a ranged weapon. The Dragyri use slaves to weed out the weak in the enemy so that the "trueborn" can test the merit of the enemy in hand to hand combat. You might even think of them as similar to the Japanese Samurai in the way they view honor and battle.
again welcome and enjoy.

That said, don't think them too pigeon holed.
Properly tooled out, a Dragryi list can rival any other for Shooty goodness. They just arn't all that popular when they come home. ;)
Seriously: Their ranged choices are somewhat more limited, but very very effective.
With the right Foci, Ice Caste Soul Wardens have arguablely the best(accuracy) Ranged attack in the game in Glacial Dart.
Fit this along with a good selection of Soul Splitters (again, arguablely the best ranged Squad in the game (very long range, exceptional AS, potential of multiple casualties)).
Sprinkle a couple Shadow Walkers (as good as any pistol-packing human anyday -- plus they infiltrate-esk).
and flavor to taste with Slingslaves (who do suck, but shoot twice) and you have quite the long range threat.
[Air Caste adds even more options to the above ... out soon]

That said, they fit the Melee role easier and with a lot more options. I just wanted to illustrate that you are not stuck will a whole "rush and fight" army. There are ranged options, and they are by and large, very good.

we usually use 350 points in our demo games, so 300 points is a very good starting point.
