I am blind. I am wondering alone in the desert. This is all I know about my present. I know what I was, I know how I came here, I can only guess what I have become, for when I lost my sight, with it, I lost my hope, my faith. I fought for the Lord, I bled for the Lord, I had faith in Him. But was my faith not enough? Was I too weak? No. What I am today is what fortune had in mind for me.

I was the proud member of a bane squad. Nothing could have been more rewarding for me then seeing my double-headed mace shine in the sunlight, like it had been imbued by the Lord's bless. And that day our maces shone like never before while we were going through the narrow pass. On our left a high wall arise, with cliffs coming out of it and full of dark caverns. On our right, the slow muddy waters of a polluted river flew calmly in the direction we were going. Behind us was our home, in front of us was our mission, to bring the word of our Lord and banish all the unbelievers. We were half way through the pass, when, out of nowhere, a giant creature appeared. It was at least 3 meters tall, with a muscular human-like body. It wore a big metal spherical helm, entirely covering its head and neck. The helm only had orifices for breathing and for the eyes and what eyes the creature had. They were so big and wide-open that you could see every vein that was passing through them. The pupils were dilated and were floating in a mass of blood and white and yellow substance. The creature wielded a pike like weapon above its head. Taken by surprise, we barely had time to get our guard up, when the first of us fell, struck by the giant's weapon. His stomach was torn apart and guts started splattering all around. The rest of us charged, but the giant blocked most of our attacks and the ones that hit him were not strong enough to hurt him. Our leader backed off and started praying. We all knew what was going to happen, so we took a defensive stance around him. Enraged by our actions, the giant
