THIS IS one of those comics that snuck in after I gave up on comics. Although the trailer does look interesting. I wouldn't know what I was watching.. Of course, sometimes that's the best way to watch. :?

I have to admit the first spirit trailer hyped me up more than the current one.
Watchmen is looking fantastic.

The watchmen trailer made me very happy in pants.
I have been looking forward to this movie for a long time, since they first started talking about it almost a decade ago

I love the new Spirit one. That is going to be one cool looking movie.
They aren't comics I've read. I've got this problem where I simply can't read older comics cause I find the art painful, I know it's cause processes have moved on and stuff, but really the art of a comic is as important to me as the story.
That said The Watchmen looks pretty interesting, even if a couple of the outfits are a bit dodgey...but then that's DC for you.
The Spirit looks good, I personally can't stand Eva Mendez but appart from that. To be honest I'd go and see it just for the Sin City style visuals. :D

I agree with Nex on the art. I've never liked that style, but I overlooked it in favor of the sheer brilliance that is the story.

Heresy!!
Eisner stuff stands up to the best of today's artists, and I think Gibbons is fantastic thought the Pirtae comic part never appealed to me.
Don't get me wrong, for his style Will Eisner is great artist but, I've just never been a fan of the style of comics from the 50/60s.
The art in the Watchmen graffic novel is actually really good. It came out in the 80's. The Watchmen are actually characters from Charlton comics in the 60s. DC bought Charlton out in the 80s. Alan Moore wanted to give them a radical makeover but it turned out it was too radical for DC so he had to rename all the heroes.
Night Owl is the Blue Beetle. Dr. Manhattan is Captain Atom. Rorschach is the Question.
Do yourself a favor and read the book before the movie. I think the movie will be way cool but they will not be able to get everything cool into two hours. Some of the best parts are the side stories. The theme of the whole book is how would super heroes work in real life. In the book they change everything about our world but the world has a big effect on them as well.
listen...once you figure out what a joke everything is, being the Comedian's the only thing makes sense.

I am looking very much forward to Spirit and Watchmen with the great pleasure and satisfaction that there are people who are finally getting live action comic/graphic novel adaptations right for once.
It's only a matter of time till "The Dark Knight Returns" is done. When that happens I will be the happiest MOFO around! That comic was what got me into Frank Miller, Alan Moore, and other related artists work. If it wasn't for that, I probably wouldn't be into comics at all.
Add some kind of media adaptation of "The Sandman" to it and things will be done right for once.

I find the opposite true. I hate the new comics, as they don't hold a shadow to the older style.. I hate the over saturated color.. etc. Shoot the old colored dots look better than the new stuff.
