A 2016 Dark Age “State of the Union”

Greetings, fellow Samarians!

2016 has been a pretty wild and crazy ride for Dark Age. We’ve come quite a ways over this year and now stand poised to see some fantastic growth in 2017. While it hasn’t been without its hiccups, 2016 has seen us move quite a few elements forward in a very positive way. 2017 will be our year to bring it all up to speed.

Let’s jump straight into it!

Bryan Steele returns to Dark Age!

Perhaps the biggest boost for Dark Age this year was seeing Bryan Steele return to the CMON team. Bryan used to work for CMON, but had been freelancing for a few years. The opportunity to jump back in on a project he is so passionate about was one he certainly wasn’t able to pass up...

It is always wonderful to hear tales of enthusiastic communities around the globe putting together events (from demo days to campaigns to  full-blown tournaments), and it is exciting to see folks who have been championing Dark Age take that all one step further.

We’ve been talking with Gareth Anderson on and off for awhile now, and we are very pleased to be able to announce a great focal event that he is running in May 2017 – King of the Wasteland (Dark Age UK Nationals)!

Here’s a link to the event listing on Facebook:

Organized Play – Our New OP Kits!

DA_Bludgelt

Earlier in the week, we introduced you to the ‘Bludgelt’, our new “currency” for Dark Age Organized Play. You can check out the post HERE to learn more about it.

In that post we promised to show you more about our Organized Play (or OP) kits. Well, Aaron and the lovely folks at Battle Bin are packing up our OP kits as I type this, and they’ll be delivered to us just after Gencon. Very exciting!

THE CONTENTS OF THE TWO DARK AGE OP KITS

We have two OP Kits for Dark Age – Kit #1 and Kit #2 – so that we can switch up a few things in the kits to add variety to your prizes in-store. Once we know the rate we’ll be going through the OP kits, we’ll be able to better plan more variety, but we think these are starting out pretty well.

IN EVERY KIT:

In both of the kits you will find:

• One Bludgelt ...

Introducing new Organized Play kits for Dark Age!

At the CMON Expo back in May, we told everyone we were working on new Organized Play kits for Dark Age and Wrath of Kings. Well, the moment to unveil them in all their glory has almost arrived. As a teaser, however, we really wanted to show you the premier item for each of the Dark Age kits – the Bludgelt ingot. These hefty (2-2.5 oz), hand-cast, metal ingots will be for the winners for any event (tournament, campaign, league, narrative event, etc) that uses the Organized Play kits for prize support.

But really, we should let Bryan Steele, Dark Age Game Developer, tell you more about them! Take it away, Bryan.
