DRAGYRI FIRE CASTE – PYRE*–*PAINTED BY DAVE TAYLOR

The Dragyri have been on Samaria longer than any other race, brought to its surface by the Altegrahns who were once their masters. Now, millennia later, the Dragyri are finally coming together to fight the common enemies that they find across the parched lands.

Dave painted up this Pyre*model to add to his Fire Caste collection, and wanted to focus on pale skin and the sharp edges of the armor. We*hope you like the results shown here.

Throughout this article we’ll refer to various paint colors from both the Vallejo and Army Painter ranges. These are typically available from your FLGS, or through our webstore. You’ll be able to recognize these by the prefix we use: VMC – Vallejo Model Color, VGC – Vallejo Game Color, VMA – Vallejo Model Air, AP – Army Painter, and P3 – Privateer Press Paints.

So that the flesh*could appear bright, Dave*primed the model black first, and then sprayed it from a 30˚ angle with white.

COMPLETING THE*PYRE

All that remained was to paint the Flameburst Bombs, and then paint up the base. Dave*went for a fairly simple base using crushed slate painted with browns and grey to match the rest of his collection (shown below).
