    brood blendings

thanks for the kind words on the Murtros

That figure, along with the Sawblades and Pud Throwers, can be a bit confusing as to what is 'armor" and what is bone or flesh! I think the Mean Jelly bean was similar.

Knowing much more about the game itself will be very helpful for when I paint them again for my own Army(s) of Darkness

Remember to always spray paint in a well ventilated area :P .

A friend of mine almost killed himself by not reading that label .

    well ventilated

Even spraying outside with a mask, I still can get quite a whiff of spray... pretty windy here in Chicago

What I covet most is one of those $800 spray-booths that ad agencies use in thier mock up rooms! Then I would not have to freeze as I attempt to primer a few dozen minis in the 10-20 degree temps in January & February

I am trying to make a homemade spray booth, but my biggest issue is how to get the stuff vented outside without bringing in lots of cold air!

Anyone make one of these for themselves and figure out that particular problem? I would love some advice

Especially yesterday. I'm out in the suburbs and we had 40 mph wind. o.O

    leafnadoes

Well, my wife and I were witness to a new phenomenon here the other day.

Those 40-50mph wind gusts created something we decided to call "leafnadoes". There were literally thousands of leaves in these great swirling masses moving down the streets at high speeds... just insane!

Now we have 15 degree wind chills to go along with our 40mph winds

Hopefully the weather stays like this when the Carolina Panthers come to town

in the west (colorado, wyoming, idaho, and utah) we call those dust devils.. not too many leaves out there..

utah has a condition at the bottom of the valleys where winds can reach hurricane gale force for a few seconds.. as the cold air from the top of the valley and hot air at the bottom of the valley mix up.. they are called micro-bursts.. they can pick a car up and throw is and then just disappear...

    lake effect snow

    Wow.. that is crazy!

We have a few odd things here.. like lake effect snow.

Cloudless sky, bright sunshine, and a blizzard... all at once!

When the wind blows from the east on a day that's 20 degrees or less, you can get some amazing snowfall with absolutely no clouds. It is far more blinding than a regular snowstorm.

Of course, there is the ultimate phenomenon.. the sashe.

Wind blowing hard from the NW can push lake water to the Michigan side of the lake, lowering water levels here in Chicago. That water hits thier shoreline and bounces back towards us, as water does in a bathtub.

When it reaches us, lake levels can rise as much as 8-10 feet in a matter of seconds. Back in the 1960's, 8 people fishing on the lakefront were killed by one of these.

    Happy fishing!

I haven't yet, but I plan to. Simplest solution (maybe not cheapest though) is to get an old range hood. You know, like over your stove. Vent this to the outside using the same technique they use for bathroom fans and stove fans. Build a small stall around this, perhaps using an old shower stall. Sounds pretty good, no?

My thought was to create a booth out of cardoard/foam core.

The vent part would be a shop vac... I just need to figure out exactly how to get the nasty stuff out the window Without getting really really cold, that is..
