Soul Warden #1

Ok, so I finally finished painting my original Soul Warden sculpt. It was a pain to do some of the things that I wanted, namely the blending a large area from blue to white. I'm no Wap or Alexi, but I'm fairly happy with it. I'm sure I'll touch up things as time goes on. Pictures will come as soon as I fix a few things and get a decent set up to take pictures.

Ok, picture time. I'm not too happy with the freehand on the back. Maybe I could find someway to get a nice Dragyri decal and redux it sometime. It's also my first time attempting NMM.

I do like what you've done with the blues/whites. Similar to what I have in mind for my Soul Warden #3.

Scott Spieker over at Void Games painted one, once upon a time. But he has since sold his and has no idea where it ended up.

Now that is a damn fine job MB, the blending looks fine and the NMM is a lot better than my first (and only) attempt at it.

Get it posted up on CMON and watch for the comments about "What figure is this.......sweet!!!". You may lose some points on mould lines and joining areas, but I think you'll still get a good high rating.

My goodness, that's pretty darn amazing as a first NMM attempt!

Hell, my first few NMM tries were on little bitty Reaper dudes, not huge Soul Wardens.

Of course this means we must get together to play some Dark Age so that I can see this bad boy in person!

Besides, someone's gotta teach me this game

Interesting to see how DA minis have progressed.. . SW#1 is a very dynamic and impressive piece, but now that I look at it, the level of detail that you see in the more recent Dragyri sculpts just isn't there.
