    Bane and Ratchet Lovin'

I was going to wait til I was done with my Golab so that I would have one mini from each faction posted, but the forums are slow so I'll try to liven it up :P The pictures aren't the greatest as my camera sucks and I don't really have the proper setup.

    Bane:

    Ratchet:

Great work. I love the colors you chose for the rachet. even if they're a bit pink. The jewels look great. The next step is to define a light source.

I did it pink because I wanted to to look like it was fleshless. You can't tell from the photo, but I put a gloss on the muscle-y parts mixed with a bit of red to make it look a bit bloody.

you don't necessarily have to define a light source on amodel.. in fact systematic highlighting works fine for peices not being used for contests..

and most pictures would just make that highlight go away anyways..

    very nicely done

The only reason I through that out there was because it seemed like the next step in the painting skill progression. They do look just fine right now.

Nope, I gotcha. I just meant that things often look better with a defined light source, especially NMM. Take a look at the St Mark in the title bar. The light source is presumed to be above him, and so all the surfaces it hits are lighter than the ones on the bottom.
