The latest release merely says that is tightens up security a bit, so I hope so. Apparently they upgraded the visual confirmation as well.
I have downloaded a mod that will also help in that area and will hopefully install that over the weekend. It will make zero difference to already registered users.![]()
Judging by the spam that just got posted it looks like the phpBB update didn't affect it. Here's hoping your new update will.

The latest bugger seems to have followed a link from here to my local games shop forum and posted a message there............. and not in any section, just the Dark Age section of the forum............. grrrrrrrr![]()

Unfortunately, from what I'm reading, these are not spambots. The latest 'strategy' is to employ actual people who make the initial contact on forums to propagate specific URLs. This cause the search engines to get more hits. Short of having one of the admins manually approve every new member, these bastiches just aren't going away.
