Don't forget Knock Down!
Ok, even grognards forget stuff. In the big Warfair battle (Father's Day Picnic) I was forgetting some basic stuff. Here are some helpful things to remember.
Don't forget to have our opponent save against knock prone! The enemy model will have to blow an action point to get up if he is knocked prone and some models like the weapons smith or a harpy can do a lot with one action point. All those action points add up.
Don't forget your Duffer's Drift. This is an old army college manual and a good read. It tells you to know your terrain and pay attention to the battlefield from the enimies point of view. I don't mean you should hang out on your opponents side of the battle but you need to be aware of what is cover and what is not based on his location. Because I didn't even think about a window being at a particular point in a building I lost almost a squad of bolas. This could have been avoided had I got down on eye level with the models. (always a good idea)
Don't forget to account for your opponents play style. I honestly thought that if I killed the rest of Jeff's army St. Mark would sneak off the board. Jeff has too much Dragyri in him and Mark came out to play! (Don't let Jeff fool you the Warfair battle was REAL close. I would have lost had I not gotten initative after I deployed the Harpies!)
