    Kublacon 2006 Online Photo Gallery

It is done! The gallery is up and ready for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

    Kublacon 2006 Online Photo Gallery

Kublacon 2006 was a tremendous success, and more than 2,100 attendees enjoyed the wide array of events.

Mini-Painting events were expanded greatly this year. Paint'n'Take tables were going round the clock from 9am to 9pm. Sponsors included Reaper, Crocodile, Dark Age, Abberant, GW, Mongoose, and Corvus Belli. P&T tables were manned by the Kublacon PaintHordes volunteers, who worked hard to ensure that everyone enjoyed themselves.

Eleven SpeedPainting Contests were held over the weekend with the winners invited back to a Sunday evening MasterClass Speedpainting Contest. Congrats to Derek Schubert for winning this event! Prizes were supplied by Kublacon, Justice Radio, Gamers Guild of Concord, and Wayne's Miniature Bases.

Seminars were held all weekend for eager students. Four different sculpting classes were taught by Matt Gubser. Painting seminars were held by Marike Reimer, Laszlo Jakusovszky, and Dan Smith. And a terrain-building seminar by Steve MacLean.

A new Kublacon special edition miniature was unveiled of our KublaDude mascot...sculpted by Matt Gubser.

The KublaAwards painting competition featured an impressive array of stunningly painted miniatures. 27 KublaTrophies were awarded. Winning entries pics were projected onscreen during the awards ceremony as the painter recieved their trophies. Best of Show award went to Marike Reimer for her "Feral Fairy" by Werner Klockes' Freebooter, when she was awarded the coveted KublaSword.

We hope you enjoy perusing the online gallery, and hope to see you at Kublacon 2007!

    Sincerely,
    Wayne Rogers
    Kublacon Mini-Painting Coordinator

Wow, I loves that fairy. Might have to pick one up to paint. Is that how the stock model looks?

    Some really nice work there.

Out of interest, how old was the painter of the Clergy Ann? Youngster category, yes?

Basically yes. It sits on a rock. Marike added more rocks to the base. She did a good job at blending them in so you cant tell which are the added rocks. I beleive the stock mini is called: "Nasty Fairy"

Lots of really great entries. However, there's one I remember that isn't in the gallery. It was a female witch hunter. Actually, I was worried it'd push my entry out the ranking . Figured it'd at least take runner up. Did it get disqualified or pulled for some reason?

Edit: where are my manners. Thank you SOOOO much for doing all this Wayne. The contests was fantastic.

Great trophy...a Disney version of a Khan!

Whoa...very nice Feral Fairy by Marike. And she's a bit of a hottie herself, isn't she?

Agreed...great job putting this thing together Wayne. Nice display case too. Must come in handy for this type of thing that you work with wood!

Thanks for alerting me on this Vax....I did indeed forget to upload that pic. Corrected! As for the rankings...this year I didnt do the judging...had a team of 4 qualified judges, but I didnt have time to sit in on their deliberations to know why they chose what they did. Obviously they saw something they liked in your St Mark!
