    GenCon aftermath

Well, I'm back from my Sunday visit. I got to hang out with a great bunch of guys at the DA booth, My son, Phil is now a DA convert. And I got to watch the final results of the Tournament. My biggest complaint was that The Retail booth was sold out of so much, but, that's a real boon for the hobby, as perhaps many more will succumb to the DA temptation. We were also able to get Karl (owner of Last Square) to talk to Grafter about aquiring product. Our minis group has now grown to 7 in the Madison area. All in All. Great time and great people.

Final results of the tounament, eh. I'm tempted to ask but perhaps we should all wait.

    Or not.

Sorry to hear about the Retail Booth, Grafter was worried about running out of product on the first day. Which day was this that you made your observation?

Come on man, details for those of us who could not attend.

    Booth

about 3pm Sunday, so He probably did pretty well keeping the stock up. The booth was awefully small and could only fit maybe 2 at a time. Hopefully next year, DA can expand a bit. I' thinking the game is going places.

I was there all four days.

DA was flooded with the best possible problems to have:
I think each "demo tournament" was full to capacity.
The Saturday events had to actually TURN people away, there just wasn't room.

Each time I walked by the booth is was packed with folks. I think most things were still in stock by Satuday (the day I walked through for my purchases, only paid attention to Forsaken and Dragyri lines, though). By 1 pm Sunday, there were barespots everywhere.

From my outsiders perspective, I think everything went very well. There was a lot of interest, from people walking by. A lot of folks stopping for random demos. There were games going on everytime I walked through the Minihall.

    Great Job, guys!

Yeah, the difference between last year and this year were phenomonal. Last year we sat around and twiddled our thumbs alot. This year were were run off our feet. I can't speak much to the vendor's booth ('cause I didn't get away from the demo tables much) but the events table was crazy! We sold out almost every event on Fri, Sat and Sun At one point we had 16 people sitting down for demos at once ( you'll see the impromptu "kiddie table" we set to catch the overflow in the pics soon).

All in all it was a raging success. Thanks to everyone who came by and showed their support

I must say good job guys. I was throroughly impressed with everything, especially the great attitudes everyone I met had. I give my first experience with the realm of Dark Age two thumbs up.

By all accounts everything did go great. I was sidelined with a stomach bug and didn't get to spend nearly as much time down at the convention as I would have liked (I even left early ) But the booth was great and though I wasn't able to help with the events, it sounds like a resounding success. Sota told me that he was very pleasantly suprised at the amount of new players, even at the Meet the Warlord events.

Catch you all around the bend again, here's hoping my immune system holds up a little better!
