Warhead by Shinobi (large-ish pics)

This mini breaks my painting time record. Assembled and primed on Thursday night, started painting at 4pm Friday (I was on half-day leave), finished painting at 2am Saturday, varnished a couple of hours before going to the shop.......... *phew*!! Quite happy with the results as well..... enjoy!

The Background is part of my test run of Worldworksgames stuff. I used really bad quality card which made all the colours muted and the black having white spots everywhere........... Art-de-Vivre should be putting some pics up of the whole cave system we used for some games this weekend. Only 28"x28", but should be a better size next weekend.

I do not want to sound like an asshole, but I do not think it is up to your normal level, Shinobi.

It looks very good, but I would rather see you take your time, and produce STELLAR miniatures!

LOL, you haven't really seen my normal level recently. To be very honest, the latest figures I've posted (Contradiction etc) have actually been a lot better than my normal standard. In fact I would say that Contradiction is my best work so far....... after 20 years+ of doing it!

The thing is that I looked at my miniature mountain the other day and realised (after sooooo bloody long) that there is no way in hell that I will get even 50% done if I paint each one in my normal slow way............

So basically, for the foreseeable future I have to sacrifice some quality for quantity I'm afraid............ I have loads of Dragyri, Skarrd and 9 armies of Rackham stuff to paint up, plus the occasional box of Hasslefree and Heresy stuff, plus a weird Vampire Counts army for WHFB........... gotta start making an impression on all that lead.

But saying all that, I'm still happy with Warhead's finish!!!

But I have to get through it faster than normal......... the lead mountain is just getting toooo big now!

great mini shinobi, while it isnt your excellent standard, its still very good. besides, a finished army has a quality all its own.

im still in the delusion that ill be able to paint my 100% standard on every mini, anyhow, i actually really want to thank you for this post

now that i can see nlue fabric will offset dark-skinned skarrd nicely my skarrd thank you!

Ug, not mine, though I really like what you did with him Shinobi. The muscle definition of the mini leaves a LOT to be desired but you managed to exagerate the muscles to the point where he looks buff. I think the golden hook looks a bit off though, perhaps just silver might make it fit in more.

LOL good advice.

I always used to paint like a crazy man. If I got a bit of paint onto another area, I would repaint that area immediately, even if it was just on the primer or base coloured area. Took bloody ages to get anything finished.

Times change, lead mountains get higher, and psychiatrists are expensive, so I need to change my methods!!!
