I would look into nomadic tribes of the N. American Plains and then combine ideas from that culture with that a trailer park and fast forward 250 years into a desolate future.

maybe a combination of the tanks and coporate well, that has fallen into disrepair. maybe a busted sttel opening with a bucket and rope used to drop into the water.
Turrip tents, yes, that would be cool and absolutely needed. Have something in my mind how to do themOriginally Posted by Jamie
As for Turrips, the problem is I would have to sculpt them ... hmmm ... but I guess I can't do without
And for the terrain board, that already exists (see Wastelands-board post).
Another thingy, yes, have reserved a unit of Banes and a unit of Coils for that ... it remains to be seen whether I can do something decent hereOriginally Posted by caffeine-addict
[quote=Magpie]A well: A good centre point for the board. Out in the desert any water will be worth fighting over. Away from water most people will be too busy trying not to die of thirst to worry much about combat.
Also, if there
been lookin at the range the better minis imo for the head scarf idea would be...... bolas, buzzblades and maybe a converted chitin from the skaard. then haniels, reavers and poss the weaponsmith from the forsaken.
Hey just some ideas and the shoufa's?(still waitn to find out if this is the right word) shouldnt be too difficult with green stuff or lots of putty
Very interesting...nomads who roam the vast salt beds of Attr (Samaria). I am guessing that the Forsaken, "proper", tolerate them for trading purposes and the Skarrd love them because they easier to overwhelm (although I have no clue how tough this bunch is?).
So do these nomads live in large clans/tribes and are these clans united by a common culture? Is it safe to assume they have a sense of loyalty to Prevailers, or are they just shy of making stew out any strangers they come across? Since we are talking "desert-like conditions" here I guess they don't run into the Brood much?

In brief the relationship between Forsaken, Skarrd and Salt Nomads is very complicated. The tribes are not all united (although they share cultural elements), some are closely allied with the Forsaken, others considerably less so. Some are powerful in a marital sense and can hold off the savage Skarrd perfectly well, others are getting eaten left right and centre. In some respects its hard to tell who
Are the "Salt Nomands" going to become a faction of their own? Possible mercenary units for the Skarrd or Forsaken?
WHEW! that was a conversation from 2 years ago.. We didn't know too much about nomads then.
But Magpie certainly sheds a bit more light on it..
Some cheapo car/vehicle model kits would be cool for wrecked vehicles buried in the sand. If you are clever, you can chop them in ways to get 2-4 pieces of terrain for each model kit. Plus, chopped up sprue makes sweet rubble piles after drybrushing!
