    What the Hell???

Ok...now I am not a super-important CEO or anything, but there is something I just do not understand....

Do people really need to check their blackberry while using the restroom?

I was doin' my thing and the dude in the urinal down the lane was checking his blackberry while doin' his business. DUDE! The freaking email can wait until your done dropping off the coffee from this morning!

Could someone explain this to me? Is an email so important that it cannot wait a few more minutes?

So far the best explanation I've received for this is:

"some people do... they need something to make them feel manly, since what's in their other hand isn't doing it"

    You guys/gals got any ideas?

I'm in your camp on this. I will stand in line for the day they finally market personal scramblers so that I can experience an e-comm "cone of silence". I'm an IT guy myself, but shake my head at the lengths some people go with their "gadgets".

You know I am an IT guy too...but I leave the Zune, the Laptop, and the Phone on my desk when I go to the restroom. Whatever world-ending event is happening while I am in the restroom...it can wait.

I will play devil's advocate.. who the fack cares? does his checking his email really bother you? if so, why? because he doesn't do what you do? shit man, what's the big deal?

some people are so connected and addicted to internet and email and pm that they can't go without some pda, palm pilot, blackberry, device in their hand 24/7

I say, let them if they want. it's no different than the guy who takes a magazine or paper to the shitter to do his business there either.. it's called doing something besides staring at the damn wall in front of you.. maybe, he has "stage fright" and the email he is looking at is his doctor's reminders on what to do when you can't piss in public.. did that thought ever occur? and no it probably isn't but ..... it could be.

again, I say, who the fack cares. it's not like he forced you to take a pda into the john and made you do it too.. so......

anyways, just my perspective on it.. quit worrying about it.

Its not that it bothers me... Unless the guy next to me is too busy checking his email and starts to pee on my leg (which actualy happened once). But it is some what irritating with the little beeps. Some times I want to get a giant electro-magnet and strap it to my back and go annoy people with computers/blackburrys... Of course this is just a passing fancy... like lighting my neighbors car on fire... completly harmless.

I think the important question here is: did he wash his hands after checking that email?

I've heard you men have some strange bathroom habbits, but that's... O.o What next? Actually writing out messages while peeing? Wouldn't it be weird to get a message someone wrote while peeing...?

    Or does that happen already?

I supose it wouldn't be half as bad as the classic realisation that the guy you're talking to on the phone is really "enjoying" the "conversation"

Yea it doesn't bug me if he want's to pee and play with his gadget at the same time. Wait!? that came out wrong...

My issue is the people who can't put the Cell down to talk to a sales clerk or person that they are conducting their daily business with. Having been on the other side of the counter a time or two let me assure you that, if you do this, the person on the other side of the counter thinks you are an overindulged self-important jerk. Don't do it, it's rude.

Sorry for high-jacking the rant a little there.

P.S. if i get pee'd on for any reason... blackberry, cell, and face... meet mr. flusho. Ewwww, other people's pee is just gross!

lol, yeah, cause all women have no strange bathroom habits. yep, it's only men that don't wash amiright? at least we don't take a gaggle of geese in there with us to help us do our thing.. besides, as I mentioned before, if they can message one handed who cares. you women have it easier as I can't remember that last time I saw a woman stand and pee.. although the last time I did see that, she wasn't a very good shot ...

I suppose it could have all been fixed is the texter/emailer/blackberry monkey just went in, sat on the john and never bothered kainthedragoonx.. but.....................
