While at Warfair this weekend (yes, I owe a battle report . . . ) Kyle and I played a modern Iraq game put on by the Miniature Building Authority in support of their Middle Eastern Building line. Kyle, who has been in the market for a gently used vehicle for his Skarrd, capable of surviving in the harsh world of DA, noticed the vehicle of his dreams. The vehicle was a resin model of the new Army Cougar done by the Hobby Armor Depot http://hobbyarmordepot.homestead.com/. I have a few notes to add at this point. First, some questions have been raised on TMP about HAD's models as being copies and that the service is sometimes not very good, but I have been communicating with Joe of HAD today and got nothing but fast responses to my questions. In regards to copies, no one else I know of has either Cougar or Stryker models, so not idea who you could have copies for these, so that seems to be a moot point. Second, the models are not Forge World quality, but they are fine for Wargame quality and paint up well. For the price they seem very hard to beat. Bellow are some pictures of the Cougar 4x4 and 6x6 as well as the Stryker. I just got a message from Joe that he is also working on a new CHEETAH model that will be out soon and would be great for games like DA. (Oh, the turret versions of the Cougar are not yet available . . .)
If you want to order from Joe, use the email on the website and tell him what you want and ask for a price with shipping. He has some discounts for PayPal and a February sale that he can figure into the order total and tell you what to pay via PayPal. Not hitech, but what the hell.
Cougar 4x4 and 6x6 (Price between $20 and $22 each)
Stryker (Price is $19)
CHEETAH
