You should try Spring Fever then. It is close enough to you to be within reason. It is being held in Raliegh from May 16-18. It is a multi-genre, multi-scale miniature wargames convention. Alot of cool stuff going on.

we will have to see how the schedule pans out. with work right now I am working 12-13 hour days mon-sat. Then I have a 3 hour block at church I am obligated to teach.

I would love to rock down and play some dark age with someone that actually knows what's going on. I would probably need to raise a few hundred dollars for gas too.. ouch. lol
