Thread: Air caste?

    Air caste?

What would be a good initial purchase model wise for 500 pts. Then next couple models after that as well? Are air caste pretty competitive?

    The Dragyri starter comes with:

    Soul Warden ( 80)
    Taskmaster (35)
    6x Spear Slaves (60)
    3x Shard Slaves (60)
    4x Sling Slaves (60)

295 pts and enough Slaves to run quite a few Trueborn. As far as expanding it to 500 and Air Caste...

    Soul Warden ( 80)
    Whisper x2 (150)
    Air Caste Death's Device (90)
    6x Spear Slaves (60)
    3x Shard Slaves (60)
    4x Sling Slaves (60)

    Gives you 500 exactly.

And as far as Air Caste being competitive, they are the masters of mobility in Dark Age. Just remember that you can, eleven out of ten times, outmaneuver your opponents.

Sweet thanks, do you have to run a soul warden or can you just have slaves, and is there any slaves better than another. I don't know if I would want to run the ones that can explode when shot or shooting maybe just spear slaves what do you think? And I was reading one of truebornes if not all don't know has a spell that can make them go anywhere on table? Or just a certain distance to new location?

Soul Warden is not required but is one of the most powerful spellcasters in the game.

On the note of Slaves, a lot of people underestimate them and, well, end up dead. The Shard Slaves drop landmines across the field, thus giving your opponent the choice of avoiding that area (funneling them to your advantage) or giving them yet another danger to deal with.

Also, Sling Slaves may not seem like much, but they are RoF 2, and 1s will come up, given enough shots.

Spears are the cheapest, and if you just want to pack as many Trueborn as you can then Spear-Slaves are the ones to go with.

On the note of Trueborn, I believe you're thinking of Aerobatics, which doesn't allow them to move anywhere, but allows them to ignore terrain modifiers and climb at normal speed (as opposed to half).

The Guard Slaves are pretty amazing also. At any rate I do approve everything mr. Black said.

What's best way to use the different slaves charge in tie things up? Or use certain ones to protect various models?
