    Clarification: Indirect

Hey everyone so I just played my first game yesterday with my Saint Luke force, and I noticed when i went to use my arsenal they have an AS value of "6" for their indirect weapon the gernade launcher. I originally thought that all that was needed for that is to roll scatter but now im confused. Do I need first calculate a TN to see if it hits and then roll a scatter on top of that? I appreciate the help in advanced.

Indirect weapons still roll to hit.

They target a Point of Impact, df:3, then roll to hit with any modifers. Should they miss, however, the shot will deviate as per normal rules.

All of this and the specifics can be found under the Point of Impact and Blast Weapon entries in the Core Rulebook.

ya i was reading the rulebook I didnt really understand the whole df3 thing but I think I get what your saying now i think. So if the TN isnt met then i roll scatter right? sorry to ask an obvious question this game is just abit overwhelming at the start lol.

Yes, if the Target Number is not reached then the weapon scatters as per normal (d20 divided by 1/2 distance).

I was reading through the rule book and I saw there is a way to fire indirect weapons with a spotter. Is this method always necessary? Like what if my unit (in this case arsenal) can see his own point of impact? Do I just go about normal targeting rules then?

    From Forsaken Errata/FAQ Download:

Q: Weapons with the “Indirect” characteristic say they require a
Spotter; does this refer to another unit with the Spotter ability or
simply another unit with LoS to the target?

A: Any model with LoS to the target and within the PS range
of the firing unit may act as a spotter. The Spotter ability is
irrelevant to attacks with the “Indirect” characteristic

Having a spotter means the Indirect weapon can be fired without LoS from the firing unit, as long as a spotter unit has LoS to the target.
