    Regeneration & Dying.

    Hi all,

I have some questions about regeneration:

    REGENERATION
During every Lingering Effect phase, a Unit with Regeneration will automatically
attempt to heal if it has a Wound counter(s). The numbers in parentheses after
Regeneration indicates how many D20 are used for the test. Each roll equal to
or less than 10 recovers 1 HP. Units with this ability are not Removed from Play
    immediately upon Dying.

So, if I gather correctly, a unit with this ability doesn't get removed from play and can regenerate 1 hp next round? Doesn't this make it virtually immortal?

You are not quoting the entirety of the ability:

"During every Lingering Effect phase, a Unit with Regeneration will automatically attempt to heal if it has a Wound counter(s). The numbers in parentheses after Regeneration indicates how many D20 are used for the test. Each roll equal to or less than 10 recovers 1 HP. Units with this ability are not Removed from Play immediately upon Dying. Instead, Dying units with Regenerate receive a Dying Counter and remain on the battlefield until: they next activate, take twice their original HP in damage, or if the unit is unable to Regenerate to at least 1 HP during the next Lingering Effects Phase. If that is not possible, the unit is immediately removed as a casualty during Lingering Effects."

As Mr. Black pointed out, if a unit fails to regenerate to 1 HP during the next Lingering Effects phase then it is removed.

However, during the course of a game a unit may become dying and regenerate back to 1 HP several times. I once had a game where almost every other turn one poor Ratchet took a HP and was dying but each Lingering Effects phase he made his regen and came back. Of course cauterized wounds cannot be regenerated at all either.
There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

Just to point out, there are three distinct situations where a unit with Regeneration will be removed from play:

    1. If it takes twice its original HP in wounds (ex HP: 2 is reduced to -2)
    2. If it fails to regenerate to at least 1 HP during Linger Effects (ex Currently at 0, fails regeneration roll(s) )
    3. If it activates while Dying (first activated unit shoots and reduces Rachet to 0, when Rachet activates that turn (he has to) he will die)

Ahh thanks. I only have the quickstart rulesheets. (Rulebook/Forcelists ordered, being processed.) Looks like the rulebook/forcelist goes much deeper into it.

So that means, if a Rachet (1 HP) critically fails an armor save, it will be removed from play? (1 Hp - 2 damage = -1 Hp)

Correct! Regeneration is a great ability, but it can be worked around by an intelligent opponent.

Question about this. So if your unit has lost any HP and on the next Lingering effects then the unit dies or only when they enter the dying state?

Only when it is dying, if a unit has 3 HP and loses 2 of them then it will function normally until it loses another, at with time it will enter the Dying State.
