Scenario qst re # 9 - Escort

Played a game today and the mission I rolled up was #9 Escort (I think that is what it is called just don't have the book in front of me). The mission description says pick a unit as your leader and that unit must be escorted to the enemy deployment zone and survive to fulfill the condition. I was playing Forsaken so picked Judah for my leader. My opponent argued that the leader had to be the leader of a squad so for example take a squad of flenses and pick one of the flenses as the leader and that squad escorts him in. I didn't see it the same way.
My thoughts are a unit is an individual model so I can pick anyone eg Judah, Warwind or even St Mary, then that model is the leader of your total force not merely a squad. Thoughts?

The unit you select can be any unit in the army. It does not have to be a specific Individual or whatnot (or in your friend's case, a member of a squad).

So I was correct in picking Judah as my leader for the scenario?
